Windows Vista has a number of capable applications and utilities that can be added or removed from the DVD-ROM. From a licensing perspective this is no different than having the DVD-ROM licensed the edition of Windows that you have installed instead of the edition you have licensed. Using a Windows DVD-ROM to perform updates to an older operating system like XP, will allow you to use the media to perform the update. Microsoft does not recommend this. d2c66b5586
